Seminars & Scientific Activities
Stay connected with the mathematical life in RomeMathematical life in Rome is rich and vibrant. This page brings together the main seminar opportunities for PhD students at the Mathematics Department of Tor Vergata, both in-person and online.
At the Mathematics Department (Tor Vergata)
The scientific life of our department is animated by a continuous seminar activity, covering a wide spectrum of advanced research areas.
These regular appointments are a fundamental meeting point to discuss the latest discoveries,
foster collaborations, and maintain an intellectually stimulating environment for the entire community.
Seminars offer the opportunity to hear mathematicians from leading Italian and international research institutions.
Many of these activities are supported by the MIUR Excellence Department Project MatMod@TOV, highlighting their outstanding research character.
Active participation of PhD students in this lively scientific life is an essential component of their training.
All PhD students are expected to regularly take part in departmental activities, particularly the Colloquium and at least
one research seminar aligned with their thesis project.
The regular seminar series to which PhD students are invited to participate include:
- Algebra and Representation Theory Seminar - A.R.T.S.- Seminar
- Department Colloquium - Approximately three per year -
- Colloquium Levi Civita - Approximately one per semester - Organized: Center for Mathematics and Theoretical Physics - C.M.T.P. -
- Complex Analysis and Geometry Seminar
- Geometry Seminar
- Operator Algebra Seminar
- RoMaDS - Seminar - Organized: Rome Centre on Mathematics for Modelling and Data ScienceS -
- Differential Equations Seminar
- Topology Seminar
- Numerical Analysis Seminar - page under renovation, see the Department's seminar page: click here
- Dynamic Systems Seminar - they not have a webpage, see the Department's seminar page: click here
