Dear 20 students and teachers of the Rome-Moscow school 2020 (your names and email addresses are listed after this letter), in the week August 24-29, 2020, we propose to you to organize the following online meetings. August 24, at 9:00am in Italy ( 10:00 in Moscow, 12:30 in New Delhi, 16:00 in Pusan, Republic of Korea ): each one, organizers, students and teachers, presents himself/herself. In the days August 24-29 two or three mini-courses will be held, each of at most 9-10 hours. Moreover, in the same period other seminars will be held, each of at most 2-3 hours. ( All online meetings will be planned in the time 9:00-16:00 in Italy, 16:00-23:00 in Pusan, South Korea. ) Some of the teachers will propose, during their teachings, a study project that should be developed by a team of 3 or 4 or 5 students of mixed nationalities (maybe five-six study projects will be proposed). In agreement with the students, on August 28-29 the teams will be formed and a study project will be assigned to each of them. The teachers are free to decide what kind of study project to propose. For example, a study project can be: the reading of chapters books or of papers on a particular math subject and doing a set of exercises, with some of them advanced. The students of each team will develop the study project assigned to them after the end of our online meetings; of course they can collaborate (after preliminary individual studies). Their work should produce as a result a seminar held by themselves to all the other students and to the teachers during the part in presence of the school, that will take place probably in the period January 24 - February 7, 2021. In the part in presence of the school, besides the seminars on the study projects held by the students of the school, there will be some main mini-courses that will be held by teachers of the school. Here some more activities will be proposed to all the students, in particular exercises related to the taught math subjects. Such mini-courses could also be a continuation of some of the online seminars/mini-courses of the online week. The place of the part in presence of the school has to be decided yet. It could be the Sirius University in Sochi (https://siriusuniversity.ru/ [siriusuniversity.ru]) The participation with good profit to this enterprize will be recognized to the students in a detailed certificate, that can be also used in the provenience universities of the students to obtain university credits (i.e. participation to the enterprize could be made equivalent to attend an institutional course, after a request supported by the professor who recommended the student for the school). In the months September-October-November-December-January some Lectures will be held online for the students of the school (about two per month), by the teachers of the school or possibly by other invited professors. The topics of the Lectures could be near to the subjects of the study projects that the students are developing, or could deal with any not standard math subject related with "Matrix Methods and Applied Linear Algebra". In such days, before or after the Lecture, each team of students could also meet (online) the teachers that have proposed their study project and discuss with him/her about it . If possible, the Lectures will be organized on Saturdays, so to allow to all the 20 students of the school to attend them without losing the institutional courses in their universities. There is a good possibility that the usual Rome-Moscow school will be organized in August-September 2021. If it will be possible, then the Rome-Moscow school will be open to the students who will have participated with profit to the above enterprize, and it will be open to new possible interested students, enrolled by a new deadline expiring on March 29, 2021. Please, dear students and teachers, confirm as soon as possible if you agree to join this enterprize.
