Subject: Summer School, Numer and Appl Linear Algebra,
Rome-Moscow, Aug-Sep 2018

The 2018 edition of the Rome-Moscow summer school of Matrix
Methods and Applied Linear Algebra will be held during the period
25 August 2018 - 23 September 2018.

As for the previous editions, it consists of two parts:

August 25 - September 8 (2018)
Institute of Numerical Mathematics - Russian Academy of Sciences (INM-RAS)
Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSU), Moscow, Russia

September 9 - 23 (2018)
Department of Mathematics
University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (TVRSU), Rome, Italy.

The school is open to advanced undergraduate, master's and
PhD students interested in the math subject described in
the name of the school.

A preliminary list of courses is: 
- Iterative Methods and Preconditioning for Large
and Sparse Linear Systems with Applications,
- Matrix methods in network analysis
- Modern numerical methods of convex and non convex
optimization,
- Eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices: theory
and computation
- Extrapolation methods and their applications

Participation with good profit will be recognized to the students
in a certificate that can allow them to obtain university formative
credits from their University Department/Institute of origin, provided 
such Department/Institute recognizes the courses of the school (that will be 
listed in the certificate) formative for their university curriculum.

Students from universities located far from Rome and from Moscow are welcome 
in the school, and, if sufficient funds will be available, they will receive 
some contribute to their lodging expences. Moreover, with the help of their 
refereeing professors, they can apply for the "funds for Studying Travels" 
that every year are offered in most universities.

Application Deadline: Applications should be submitted within Wednesday
April 4 2018, and not later than Monday April 16, 2018.
