| A Fano surface parametrizes lines on a smooth cubic threefold. It is an irregular surface of general type discovered by G. Fano more than one century ago. In this talk, we will explain why the Tate conjecture holds for these surfaces and we will describe an algorithm for computing their zeta function. We will give some applications of these results for some examples of Fano surfaces. |
