Lie Days in Martina Franca
May 22-27, 2006

How to get to the conference site:

The best way is first to reach Bari, by train or by flight (Bari airport is not so far from the town). If you land in Brindisi instead, you might reach Bari and then follow the instructions below. Those arriving by flight in any of the airports close to Martina Franca (Bari, Brindisi, Foggia, Taranto) can visit those airports web sites to find all information about flights and connections to/from those airports and the closest town.
Once in Bari, the easiest possibility is to take a train/bus of the company "Ferrovie Sud Est". Note that the train is operating in working days only: it leaves (arrives) from (to) the central station in Bari (where the train from Rome arrrives too). On Sunday - when most of the participants will arrive - this local train is replaced by a bus (which is less frequent): it leaves from "via Giuseppe Capruzzi" (="Giuseppe Capruzzi street"), just outside the train station. You can find here the map of the surroundings of the railway station in Bari, with bus stops marked with a small "bus icon".
The ticket of either train or bus is the same: it costs Euro 4,60 (to date), and can be purchased in the kiosks inside the railway station.
If you arrive by bus (which is the standard on Sunday), you get off in Martina Franca at the bus stop of viale Europa, which is some 550 meters far from the hotel - see the map here for the path to follow.
If you arrive by train (in working days only), you get off at the main railway station, which is some 950 meters far from the hotel - see the map here for the path to follow.
For your convenience, you can find here the timetables of connections by train and by bus. Also, you can find on the conference weeb-site the links to the web sites of the train and bus networks.

Finally, our hotel in Martina Franca can provide a shuttle service - which costs 150,00 Euro for an 8-places van, or something less with an ordinary (smaller) taxi (ask directly the hotel). However, it is materially impossible to propose it to all participants (and those arriving to Brindisi airport need to be helped first). Thus we ask you to make an effort, and try to get to Martina Franca by your own means (as suggested above), as a first instance. Nevertheless, if in the end you find too many difficulties in getting from Bari (or Brindisi) to Martina Franca, please let us know, we shall look for a solution.
