ABSTRACT:

I will briefly review the notions of exponential and variance inequalities and some of their applications to concentration and fluctuation estimates. I will mention the various techniques which have been used up to now to prove these inequalities. I will also describe new results in the case of dynamical systems with sub-exponential decorrelations.
