Oral Exams
The oral examination will be held in person in the D'Antoni Lecture Hall of the Department of Mathematics. It will consist mainly of a blackboard presentation, lasting no more than 20 minutes, by the candidate of his or her scientific interests and, if relevant, of the master's thesis. If the candidate finds it useful, he/she will be allowed to help himself/herself in this presentation with a short pdf file to share on a screen. During the presentation and at its conclusion, the committee will ask questions also aimed at ascertaining the candidate's basic mathematical knowledge and knowledge of English. The mastery of the subject matter, clarity, and correctness of exposition will be considered in evaluating the oral test. In case of Covid-19 positives, or if the candidate's current residence is more than 500 km from Rome, the candidate is allowed to make a request to the Commission to take the oral test remotely.
