Title

Explicit computations with étale cohomology for curves and surfaces

Abstract

We present an algorithm to compute explicit mod ell Galois

representations which occur in the étale cohomology of curves and

surfaces over Q. In particular, we obtain families of Galois

representations parametrised by P^1_Q, and study their degeneration at

bad places of P^1_Q.
