Titolo:	VERTEX OPERATOR ALGEBRAS VS. LOCAL NETS OF VON NEUMANN ALGEBRAS
Abstract:	At a first glance, the two areas mentioned in the title seem to live in two separate worlds. One of them is about pure algebra, whereas the other uses the language of functional analyses. Nevertheless, both mathematical structures were defined to describe and study quantum field theory. Hence it is not too surprising, that there are deep connections between them. At the seminar we shall discuss some recent developments on the possibility of associating a local net to a unitary vertex operator algebras.
