Title: Net Cohomology and the construction of Physical Models
Abstract: As an application of Roberts' net cohomology, various examples of DHR superselection theory of physical models will be discussed. Specifically, the scalar free field in 1+1 dimensions, an infinitely many sectors (i.e. irrational) model whose algebras of fields is non-separably represented, and the finitely many sectors (i.e. rational) models on the chiral circle, with target space a lattice. In both cases, the tools of twisted crossed product of Weyl algebras and of graded nets are used. Possible generalizations to electromagnetic charges and the emerging of an abstract superselection theory will also be presented.
