International Workshop

"Mathematical and Statistical Modelling of Biomedical Systems"

Aula Magna Pietro Gismondi,   Facoltà di Scienze MFN,
Università di Roma Tor Vergata, September 28 - 29, 2006
Home
The purpose of this meeting consists in creating and strengthening   interactions among researchers coming from different areas and focussing their activity on biomedical subjects.
In particular, the following themes will be considered:  mathematical modelling of population and multicellular dynamics; the analysis of statistical  problems coming  from current experimental research in bioinformatics,
heart pathologies  and viral infections; analysis of models related to biomedical engineering.
Some of the invited speakers are leading experts, others are young researchers very actively involved in their groups: in this way we hope that positive correlations will be built among different experiences and interests.
The complexity and relevance of problems posed by concrete biomedical   situations like spreading or evolution of  serious illnesses or improving  the interpretation of data coming from computer-assisted biotechnical
devices,  needs a well-coordinated  effort by the scientific community and  this  workshop hopefully goes in this direction.
