Post-doctoral positions in Operator Algebras and Conformal Field Theory

at the Mathematics Department of Roma Tor Vergata University

The Mathematics Department of Tor Vergata University invites applications for three post-doctoral positions (according to the italian law n. 398/89) financed through the European Research Council Advanced Grant “Operator Algebras and Conformal Field Theory”, under the scientific supervision of Prof. Roberto Longo.

Each position will last two years, and it will be subject to scientific evaluation at the end of the first year. The salary will be € 30.000/year and it will not be subject to taxation, but the post-doc holder will have to cover mandatory insurance expenses. It is not possible to cumulate the post-doc grant with fundings from other institutions, apart from grants supporting research activity abroad.

The positions are expected to start within Fall 2009. The research activity will take place at the Mathematics Department of Tor Vergata University or one of its related research centres.

All candidates are requested to hold a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Mathematics or Physics, and are expected to have a strong research record in the areas of Operator Algebras and/or Conformal Field Theory.
