Step 2. 2021, Sirius University, Sochi: live mini-courses and seminars held by the
teachers of the school; live talks of students about their solution of activities proposed

June 25 update
The officials in the Rectorate of LMSU communicate that
all invitation affairs at LMSU are stopped until September 15, and thus,
until such date, foreign students and profs cannot be invited by LMSU to stay in LMSU (invitations are necessary in order to apply for visa to Russia). Moreover, since at the moment the Russian Ministery of Science and Education does not recommend foreign activities until the end of this year, and since at the moment extra-comunitarian (extra-european) students are not allowed to come in Italy until December 31, regarding our school there is a natural suggestion to make for the planned dates some online classes, and then, if the situation in
September changes, plan for the autumn/winter a possible second part of the school in presence. Details about online classes will be communicated as soon as they will be precised.
June 22 update
We have received 20 applications from Master/PhD students: 1 from from University of Pisa (Italy), 3 from
Pusan University (South Korea), 3 from South Asian University, New Delhi (India),
8 from Moscow State University and Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (Russia),
and 5 from University of Rome "Tor Vergata" (Italy).
The chiefs of International Relations offices of Moscow and Rome "Tor Vergata" Universities will confirm us in the end of June the possibility for the Rome-Moscow
school 2020 to be held in the planned period (or in a slightly postponed period).
Please see
Edition 2018 and the school's
announcement flyer.
The deadline for applications is Monday May 4, 2020.
However, expressions of interest received within Monday April 13 are highly
appreciated.
Extended deadline for applications: Monday June 22, 2020. Earlier expressions of interest are appreciated.
Costs and funding opportunities:
For students admitted to the school who need lodging
both in Moscow and in Rome,
the cost of lodging will be halved
in each part of the school.
Some educational travel funds from University of Rome Tor Vergata may be available to contribute the expenses of students of the University of Rome Tor Vergata to participate to the Moscow part of the school.
In general, universities usually have fundings to offer their students the
possibility to do "educational travels", visiting universities or research
centers abroad. Thus students from any university who would like to participate to
the Rome-Moscow school are encouraged to ask about this possibility
to their university administrations.
